Doctor Who Fall Finale Recap [Updated]

Amy, Rory, and those
damn Weeping Angels
The Ponds bade farewell in tonight's episode of Doctor Who, "The Angels Take Manhattan." This being the last episode with the Ponds and with the reappearance of the Weeping Angels, it was obviously frightening, emotional, and devastating. We don't want to spoil much, but we will share a few of our thoughts:

In their final hour, it was nice to see all of the Ponds (Amy, Rory, and Melody) back together, and Rory and Amy both had some nice moments with their daughter.

Once again, people were very keen to tell the Doctor that he shouldn't be alone. We get it, he gets antsy and murdery and lonely when he's by himself. WE GET IT!

All the talk of the Ponds' FINAL EPISODE made it very clear to
us that they were going to bite it before the episode's end. And, minor spoiler, that's not exactly true.

Not many additional Guest Stars showed up this week, which gave plenty of time to our favorite big-haired vixen, River Song/Melody Pond. BTW, her hair is so big because it's full of secrets.

There was a lot of husband/wife talk as the two couples 'battled' the Weeping Angels. It got old.

It turns out that a great way to make the Weeping Angels more terrifying is by making them a little smaller and/or a lot bigger. Also, children's laughter is so, so scary.

The Doctor Says Goodbye
This is the most final 'last episode' of a companion since Donna Noble, but even she came back for an episode. So, we have hope that Karen Gillan and Arthur Darvill will be back, even if it's only a 5-second cameo. UPDATE: So, obviously, Donna was the companion directly before Amy showed up, so this is the most ridiculous statement ever. We're going to blame the gaffe on post-Pond depression. Also, "most final last" are three words that sound very strange when smushed together.

Sad Matt Smith is the best Matt Smith. But also the worst.
