Still, all hope is not lost. We combed the internet, looking for some good pop culture news to make you feel better, to give you hope in a world seemingly bereft of kindness and love. And let's just say that we definitely found some gems:
Christina Ricci |

We have some thoughts about this that might not be totally positive, but it's always nice to see the world's friendliest ghost's friendliest companion getting work. It's her first gig since Pan Am was cancelled, and she's playing a 'controversial comedienne.' We hope she's embroiled in some sort of Daniel Tosh-type of situation, because that would be hilarious. Wednesday Addams FTW!
Liza Minnelli is (possibly) Reprising Role of Lucille Austero (AKA Lucille 2) in the New Arrested Development Series on Netflix!:

Oh, man, we love this news. Our favorite chronic sufferer of Vertigo is headed back to give the Bluth family a much-needed dose of reality. Seriously, we've always felt that Lucille Austero is the moral compass of Arrested Development - she has to deal with so much crazy. Also, Judy Greer is reprising her role of Kitty Sanchez. We are having a hard time waiting!
Cobie Smulders |

Since we were pretty sure that love was dead, we're happy to say that Taran Killam and Cobie Smulders, who have been engaged for years and have a three-year-old kid together, finally got married this weekend. Smulders's HIMYM co-star Alyson Hannigan attended!
The Spice Girls Have Returned Triumphant:
Doctor Who: Season 7 is Officially Off to a Running Start:
http://mashable.com/2012/09/01/doctor-who-daleks-review/
For Doctor Who fans, Season 6 was a bit of a mixed bag, with the Doctor a little too bubbly, some weird pregnancy nonsense, and the companions spinning their wheels a bit and refusing to leave the show with dignity. Flash-forward to Season 7, and everyone is having a good time, even the viewers. Steven Moffatt finally made the Daleks seem scary, and the trio of Doctor, Amy, and Rory has never seemed stronger. When they get torn apart in episode 5, it will be heart-breaking and (quite possibly) great television. We can't wait!
Channing Tatum is Opening a Restaurant:

This is good news for Magic Mike fans and fans of the revitalization of New Orleans. He's helping to jump start the economy! Through food!
See, not everything is grim. There's a light at the end of the tunnel.
