Good News, Everybody! [A New Hope]

Hey Tableau Your Mind readers. We know that it's been a tough few weeks. Amy Poehler and Will Arnett announced that they were separating. Michael Clarke Duncan died. It's the anniversary of 9/11. Chris Brown still exists. The Olympics are over.

Still, all hope is not lost. We combed the internet, looking for some good pop culture news to make you feel better, to give you hope in a world seemingly bereft of kindness and love. And let's just say that we definitely found some gems:

Amy Poehler and Will Arnett Separate [Lost Hope]

Amy Poehler and Will Arnett announced today that they are officially separating after 9 years of marriage. They have ceased being a 'we' and will now only be a 'she' and a 'he.'

In other news, children can no longer laugh, Michael Clarke Duncan is dead, Chris Brown won a VMA, and everything else is pretty much the worst.

With hey, ho, the wind and the rain.

Bad Lip-Reading of Twilight [Best Ever]

The good people of Bad Lip-Reading, who have provided us with so many laughs with their ingenious lip dubs of politicians, movie trailers, and more, have finally hit the mother load with their newest video that endeavors to lip-read the stars and infamous low-talkers of Twilight:

Ranking the Batman Films: Part 2

Bruce Wayne: Hater of Murder and Bats
After we watched The Dark Knight Rises, the final film in Christopher Nolan's trilogy, we thought it would be good to go back through the seven films that make up the modern Batman franchise and compare them to one another. We've already ranked the bottom four movies, and we were definitely stalling on the final three. Firstly, we didn't want to disappoint readers. Secondly, we were a little sick of the Caped Crusader.

Then, The Dark Knight rises made a billion dollars, and suddenly the films were thrust back into our minds. So here it is, our ranking of the top three Batman movies (with the generous help and support of our many guest bloggers and future guest bloggers). Read the list below and let us know what you think (spoilers ahead):

The Dark Knight Rises Makes 1 Billion Dollars

You know what's cooler than a million dollars? Apparently, it's The Dark Knight Rises, which, even without a cameo from Justin Timberlake, managed to finally cross the $1 Billion mark this Labor Day weekend. That's worldwide, people, and it's only the thirteenth movie to hold that distinction!

There's a storm comingMr. Wayne. You and your friends better batten down the hatches.
We may not be the biggest fans of the movie here at Tableau Your Mind, but we did need an excuse to post the above picture of Anne Hathaway, which we admit looks a little wonky.

In other news, The Avengers has officially made all the money. Or, at least, the approximate 2011 GDP of Belize.

Film Review: Sleepwalk With Me

"Abby, there's a Jackal in the room!"
There’s an odd phenomenon that occurs at movie theaters, usually during a movie’s opening week. At the end of the movie, apropos of nothing, people start clapping. For whom, I ask, for whom? Is it for the audience themselves, for enjoying a communal activity? Is it a congratulations to the projectionist? It always seems odd, unnecessary, and a little pompous. Well, finally, at the end of a screening of comedian Mike Birbiglia’s new film, Sleepwalk with Me, appleause actually made sense. Because Mike Birbiglia was in the

Neil Armstrong Dies, Is Reincarnated as Snooki's Baby

Late-Term Ultrasound of baby Armstrong-LaValle
With death comes new life. Never has this been more true than today, when Neil Armstrong was successfully reincarnated as Jersey Shore cast member Nicole "Snooki" Polizzi's new son, Lorenzo Dominic LaValle. This represents a big win for the good people at NASA, who have been working tirelessly to perfect astronaut reincarnation since being inspired by a late-night viewing of Charlie Kaufman's Being John Malkovich in 1999.

The process has only been operational as of early 2012, and, when Armstrong died on August 25th, scientists worked quickly and efficiently to transplant his essence into the child in Ms. Polizzi's womb. There were some complications, which resulted in the baby being born slightly ahead of

Obsession of the Week: Garfunkel and Oates

Micucci and Lindhome
It is time to name Tableau Your Mind’s 2nd Official 'Obsession of the Week,' and this time it’s an easy one. Because we are absolutely obsessed with Garfunkel and Oates, the singing comedy duo headed by very funny ladies Rikki Lindhome and Kate Micucci. It’s hard to say when we first fell in love with G&O. Was it when Lindhome played a bulimic dandy lion on Pushing Daisies? Was it when Micucci Scrubbed it up as Gooch, the adorable and ebullient girlfriend of sad sack Ted Buckland, or when she partied internationally with Kristen Bell in When in Rome? Or was it the first time we heard "Pregnant Women are Smug" and it effectively kicked us in the ovaries or the testicles or whatever reproductive organs that we have (we don’t know anymore)?

We’re not really sure where our love began, but we are sure that it was in full effect when we
