Near the End, Let's Go Back to the Beginning

In case you didn't know, this Saturday will mark the last episode of Amy Williams (nee Pond) and Rory Williams as the regular companions of the 11^th Doctor on Doctor Who. A companion is a person who travels with the Doctor on his many journeys, acting as anything from his assistant to his therapist. Since Amy has been the Doctor's companion for the entirety of this blog's existence, it is only fair for us to devote an entire week to the hours and years we spent with Amy, The Girl who Waited, and her Raggedy Doctor. We actually (accidentally) preemptively said goodbye to her almost exactly one year ago, much to our eternal embarrassment.  But now it's really happening, and mum is the word about how she will make her final exit. But we do know that she is leaving. For sure this time.

Hello. I am the main blogger here at Tableau Your Mind (one of the few that make up the collective 'we'), and I am a pretty big fan of Kristen Stewart. I know it's not a popular opinion, but I don't care. However, I do realize that not everyone feels the same way as me, and I always want to at least appear to be a fair-minded person. In an effort to do just that, to present both sides equally, I have enlisted Guest Blogger Jennifer Love Bacon to present her different opinion of K-Stew alongside  my own. Presented below is a conversation that hopefully sheds some light on what makes her so maddening, so brilliant, so hated, and so loved [Editor's Note: this conversation occurred before Kristen Stewart and Robert Pattinson got back together]:

We can’t say that you’ll be missed. You were basically a guest who stayed way too long at a party. We’re already unloading the dishwasher - go home, already!

Still, for a while there, you were brilliant, simultaneously an effortless and hilarious satire of suburban life and an interesting look into the drug trade. In a half hour and for eight seasons, you often delighted us with your wit, telling the most amazing stories.

Good News, Everybody! [A New Hope]

Hey Tableau Your Mind readers. We know that it's been a tough few weeks. Amy Poehler and Will Arnett announced that they were separating. Michael Clarke Duncan died. It's the anniversary of 9/11. Chris Brown still exists. The Olympics are over.

Still, all hope is not lost. We combed the internet, looking for some good pop culture news to make you feel better, to give you hope in a world seemingly bereft of kindness and love. And let's just say that we definitely found some gems:

Bruce Wayne: Hater of Murder and Bats

After we watched The Dark Knight Rises, the final film in Christopher Nolan's trilogy, we thought it would be good to go back through the seven films that make up the modern Batman franchise and compare them to one another. We've already ranked the bottom four movies, and we were definitely stalling on the final three. Firstly, we didn't want to disappoint readers. Secondly, we were a little sick of the Caped Crusader.

Then, The Dark Knight rises made a billion dollars, and suddenly the films were thrust back into our minds. So here it is, our ranking of the top three Batman movies (with the generous help and support of our many guest bloggers and future guest bloggers). The Dark Knight Rises Makes 1 Billion Dollars

You know what's cooler than a million dollars? Apparently, it's The Dark Knight Rises, which, even without a cameo from Justin Timberlake, managed to finally cross the $1 Billion mark this Labor Day weekend. That's worldwide, people, and it's only the thirteenth movie to hold that distinction!

There's a storm coming, Mr. Wayne. You and your friends better batten down the hatches. 

We may not be the biggest fans of the movie here at Tableau Your Mind, but we did need an excuse to post the above picture of Anne Hathaway, which we admit looks a little wonky.

In other news, The Avengers has officially made all the money. Or, at least, the approximate 2011 GDP of Belize.
